Donald Trump’s comments that Hillary Clinton is playing the “woman card” have offended women and “really damaged” the Republican Party brand. Democrats and Republicans agree that it is insulting and ridiculous to imply that Hillary Clinton’s only qualification for president is that she is a woman.
Voters say they are “scared to death” of a candidate setting that kind of tone in an election. And some in the media have described Trump’s comment as a “complete turnoff” and said the comment makes Mitt Romney’s “binders full of women” comment in 2012 “seem quaint.”
Bottom line: “Every time [Trump] talks about women, he’s literally repelling them.”
