Washington, D.C.–Today, Brad Woodhouse, President of Correct the Record, released the following statement after the release of a letter from Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs Stephen Hedger to Congressman Trey Gowdy, Chairman of the Select Committee on Benghazi. Hedger cited the “unproductive” tactics from the Committee, including unnecessary interview requests, threats to subpoena Pentagon employees, and asking servicemen and women to speculate on hypothetical situations instead of asking about the facts.
“This is further proof that the Select Committee on Benghazi is nothing but a taxpayer-funded, politically-motivated effort to discredit Secretary Clinton in her effort to become the next President of the United States,” said Brad Woodhouse, President of Correct the Record. “Chairman Gowdy and the rest of the Republicans on the Committee are not concerned about the facts, the amount of time they are wasting for our men and women in uniform who have far more important things to do, or how many millions of taxpayer dollars they are throwing away as they hunt for conspiracy theories. One can only imagine what their final ‘report’ is going to look like.”
