Yesterday, Donald Trump said, “You have to be wealthy in order to be great.” The remarks have drawn sharp criticism—with Americans from across the political spectrum sending a clear message to Trump: Not everyone is wealthy, but anyone can be great.
Conservative Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin called Trump’s remarks a “disturbingly awful, un-Christian thing for anyone, let alone a presidential nominee, to utter” and clearly at odds with American “values such as respect for human dignity and generosity.”
