Despite Bernie Sanders’ objection, the fact remains that Senator Sanders is indeed a single-issue candidate and refuses to acknowledge any issue as separate from or as important as Wall Street. While an important issue, this narrow focus fails to address a number of issues facing underprivileged communities and does little to address real problems like systematic racism, gender discrimination, and racial disparities existing in education and in the workplace.
Bernie Sanders continues to attack Wall Street as if it is the silver bullet to fixing all of America’s woes, but his approach does an enormous disservice to those communities affected by other substantial and pressing issues, and his failure to see beyond Wall Street is his failure to adequately represent the America he is hoping to lead.
